Raspberry Pi as Spy
- 1 minAt home I have a Raspberry Pi Zero that needs entertainment. It’s watching our home network devices (WiFi, VOIP / SIP = FritzBox, vdr, fiber internet connection), and reports anything broken on its simple LED display. Since then, family tells me “the phone is down!” instead of the too generic “I cannot call grand-pa!” (phone? internet?) and I can quickly - often remotely - repair what’s necessary.
It also reports incoming calls visually over that display. That’s super useful if your phone supports silent night mode: you see if someone is calling, without the kids complaining that they woke up by the phone ringing!
